The best advice I've seen is to learn to cook and make what you eat. You can eat pretty much what you want, as long as you cook it yourself.
The processed food we eat is so bad for us. It has a lot more sugar, salt and preservatives than we would ever put in our own recipes.
If you want cookies, make them yourself. It will cut down on your consumption, you will know what you are eating, they will taste a lot better, and you will be very popular with your family and friends.
