I never said they didn't have any time at all, just that they spend more time on the top tier of players, which is true.
I would be interested to see how many guys they got right in the 6th round, I would bet it's under 50% traditionally.
I never said, or even implied that GM's don't watch film of later rounds talents and free agents, of course they do. What I said was is scout's will be pounding the table for guys they feel strongly about in the later rounds, these are the scouts that have seen guys in practice, games and on film for their entire college careers. They are going to know more about these later round prospects than the GM's, because the GM's don't have the same time to look at these players, or go to all their practices, that's part of why they rely on scouts and their opinions.
