Have Cree throughout my house for 2.5 years. Replaced one last month...
before I realized that the problem was in the socket, not the bulb.
Most of the Cree LED bulbs that I installed are the "Daylight" type, both regular lamp type bulbs, and the larger recessed lighting type bulbs.

Weird. Years ago when LEDs were still kind of new, Cree was the Ferrari of LEDs. Looks like times have changed.

Heat is the problem. CFL and LED do not tolerate heat like incandescents do.

They also don't generate heat like incandescent bulbs. A 60W equivalent bulb

yes and no. LED are more efficient but the heat the do generate is not
