Yup, Cree is junk. Had good luck with the Costco brand (Feit)

Weird. Years ago when LEDs were still kind of new, Cree was the Ferrari of LEDs. Looks like times have changed.

Yes, I typically get ~25,000 miles out of mine before I donate them to Kidney Kars.

Heat is the problem. CFL and LED do not tolerate heat like incandescents do.

yep, they burnout quickly in enclosed fixtures

They also don't generate heat like incandescent bulbs. A 60W equivalent bulb

yes and no. LED are more efficient but the heat the do generate is not
