They also don't generate heat like incandescent bulbs. A 60W equivalent bulb
only consumes 9-10W, and is only slightly warm to the touch. It doesn't take much to dissipate that kind of heat.

Weird. Years ago when LEDs were still kind of new, Cree was the Ferrari of LEDs. Looks like times have changed.

Heat is the problem. CFL and LED do not tolerate heat like incandescents do.

yes and no. LED are more efficient but the heat the do generate is not
