We didn't have a QB that was interested in it or that could hit it accurately...
...and the point is to throw it when it's not covered, or at least it's a matchup you like.
In general, being able to consistently throw accurate passes ***on time*** to any position group has been a weak-point for BYU offenses for a few years now.
