Consistently throwing to running backs will slow down some blitzing
Hitting the RBs on flare-outs, wheel-routes, circle routes, leak-outs, etc. will keep defenses more honest. Of course our TE, slant routes, timing routes, etc, also.

A smart QB that can see blitzes coming, where they are coming from, know where his hot route receiver is and hitting that guy quickly and accurately will change the look and success of BYU football.

We haven't had a gameplan for that or a QB that could do it for quite a while now.

It will be interesting to see what our offense looks like with a smart QB that has an arm (and an accurate arm), that doesn't have a penchant for running it, is interested in reading defenses, and has the ability to hurt them whenever they dare him to (blitzes, no safety high man coverage on our outside receivers, etc.)

It will be interesting if we will ever be able to bring back the old BYU draw play and run it to the level of perfection we had it down to in the LE era. Just when teams thought they were beginning to be able to defend us, we killed em with the draw.
