I've seen a lot of remarks on here about how the strength of our OL is the interior, but Shoaf is a good run blocker, so I'm pretty sure the stretch will continue to be our bread-and-butter run play. That means vision, timing, and the cut back will be the premium abilities our RBs will need to develop. Clearly, they are going to have to be good catching the ball and picking up blitzes, too. I think we will be in good shape catching the ball; blitz pickup and vision are the biggest question marks at this point.

The success of our offense will depend most on our OL, followed by the reads and timing between the QB and the WR. If our OL can do its job, then our RB will average 4.5-5.0 yards per carry and will be able to catch a lot of passes, because they'll leak out for checkdowns, and Tanner will actually pass it to them instead of running himself. That will require defenses to keep enough guys in the box that our receivers will have space to operate on the outside. If the QB and the WR can get their act together, then defenses won't be able to load the box against us, so our RB should be able to pick up some yards, regardless of who is toting the rock.

Yes, this is all very basic, but we haven't put it together consistently since, what, 2009?
