He can stay at BYU and get that degree if he wants, he is enrolled. He just wanted the ride, which is what people are upset about. So he will look to transfer to another school willing to pay for his degree. As is his right to do.
I was a walk on, non-scholarship member of a program in college. So I get it. I saw guys on my team lose their rides. Some over academics, some performance, some just wanted to go home. This was 25 years ago.
I have no problem with BYU cutting guys loose, except when they miseval on the kid. Then I don;t like it.
