Interesting. Mine usually takes 20 mins to rip & encode.
But I can see why it might be done differently if it is taking hours.

I use a two-step system: rip with MakeMKV and encode with Handbrake.

Out of curiosity, why don't you just use Handbrake for both?

Handbrake, at least in the past, had some issues ripping encrypted discs,

Curious. What size are you resulting files? And what type (mpeg-4, mpeg-2)?

That's not bad. On average, most of mine (mp4) are running about .9GB to 1.2GB.
