While some of the smaller, outlying rural communities have actually contracted, most cities in Idaho are growing rapidly.
That's especially true in Ada County. Meridian was recently named the country's most livable city. Boise is recognized routinely and continues to grow. I live near there in a town of about 20,000 that's projected to double in as little as 10 years. Little cow towns of the past are becoming far more suburban.
The secret has long by since been out. Relatively mild weather, lots of recreation and still relatively very affordable. Its been growing for a long time, but the numbers are getting big enough to where people are noticing.
With the growth, you're also getting a few football programs capable of growing big time talent. Hopefully Kalani et al keep establishing ties at places like Highland, Eagle and Rocky Mountain--all schools that have large LDS influence. Highland in particular has produced some star recruits recently.
