a grad transfer does not graduate from the graduate program within a year, then the school would be required to hold the scholarship for him for 2 years, each year counting against the 85 scholarship limit. That is with a player who usually is only going to have 1 year of athletic eligibility anyways. That gives huge incentive not to bring in a guy who likely is not going to pass the program.
