My post goes in conjunction with O Goucho - I was actually responding to HIS point.
And his point was that he thinks the kid didn't connect the dots and realize that he would have a local audience interested in him attending a local school. And he didn't understand that no one there was interested in Washington or Washington recruits.
I was simply agreeing - and saying that sometimes for kids like that, they would see going to ESPN as big-timing the local sports guys and local community. So he may have felt like he was doing the locals a favor being putting his hat show on KSL instead of on a national network (not that the national network would've cared to carry it).
I agree that the locals (aside from his family and friends) don't care about kids who go to Washington. A national audience would at least give him some folks who are interested in Washington.
Then again - Utah fans are all about the PAC12 - so maybe I'm wrong and they celebrate every recruit the PAC12 gets rather than recruits their school gets?
