Walk-on
Depends what residency you’re shooting for and where
the academic “elite” much rather mingle amongst themselves and when slots are tight you’re likely not breaking through
But obviously if u choose family Med no one cares and obviously 99.9% of pts don’t care

I’m not sure that graduate schools love BYU, tbh.

Sounds like a 4.0 GPA could have done wonders for you.

Go to the cheapest school. No one cares where you go to med school.

I’m going to bet most of who you are referring to are white males.

Sad but true.

Could def be right. But maybe the issue is actually a BYU white male issue?

I'm pretty sure it helped me when I was applying for grad school.

AP classes help your weighted gpa.

That’s right, I forgot about that

I had a 3.4 GPA and 24 on the ACT. I went to UVU and did good enough

Similar story. You can get great grades at BYU if you work your butt off

This was me as well. I put in an absurd level of studying

Kind of agree.. but i would substitute a school like the U rather than uvu

My two friends who went to med school from UVU got into the two best med schools
BYUheaven

Were they local. Top Schools will take a few kids who went to local schools and

Nope, but like I said, better than the schools my friends from byu got into.

That sounds like Chem 105 got easier. I’ve seen the average in the 60s before.

That wouldn’t surprise me. So many great, smart kids
