a big difference between going to BYU and UVU in the eyes of admissions committees. No it's not an Ivy League reputation, but my experience has been almost everywhere I've gone, people have respected that I graduated from BYU.

Additionally, if you are able to get good grades in the science classes at BYU, you'll perform better on the national standardized tests for entrance into grad schools, bc at the end of the day, BYU gives you a great education.

Certainly there are other options out there, but BYU happens to be a great one.
