Every season we hear these same takes.
2018: "How does BYU not start 1-3?!" (Goes 3-1)
2017: Outlier
2016: During the stretch of Mich St, Miss St, Cincy, and Boise: "Will BYU even win a game during this stretch?!" (Goes 3-1)
2015: Same question as OP, "How does BYU not start 0-4?!!!" (Goes 2-2)
2014: "Texas is out for revenge!" (Murders Texas again and starts 4-0).
2013: "How would anyone expect to beat Texas after losing to Virginia?!" (Murders Texas)
The list goes on and on...
Give it a rest people. BYU has always been a solid football program, and always will be. BYU is rarely great, but rarely terrible. Always solid. So stop it with the 5-7 projections and "How will we ever beat USC?!" outcries. BYU is a good program, that's how!
Stop acting surprised, because the numbers don't lie. We're always going to win 7-9 games, with some occasional outliers. That's just how it works. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the wins over Wisconsin, Texas, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, etc. because they always happen and they will happen this year too. We'll probably beat USC and lose to USF, that's just how BYU works.
