Was that BYU players would be jumping all over the field like a bunch of jack rabbits after every play. It used to drive me insane. It seems to have gone away with Kalani. I’m sure there’s a factor of wearing red goggles when you see something like that. Just like how people who are BYU fans think Utah players are dirty when all I see Is tough nosed defense.

BYU had a year there were they had a couple of cheap shots that got amplified by the national media and U fans took a hold of that and ran with it. But it was never a steady trend. BYU always plays hard, smart football.

It’s all in the eyes of the beholder. Utah gets more personal foul penalties because they play some of the hardest defense in the country. When you level people and play really aggressive defense, it’s natural that you’re going to get more penalties. Several of those targeting penalties from last year were pretty questionable. It’s just the nature of the way they play.
