The whole thing was contrived by some Utah fans looking to

Diminish BYU. They took a few well publicized instances and national outlets picked it up.

The whole thing started to die down with kalani but they tried it his first year too. What really killed it was Larry k becoming the biggest turd in the state and his silly handling of BYU Utah relations
