I had an interesting conversation with a POTENTIAL friend yesterday. We are both in the same graduate school but I’m a year ahead of him so obviously I’m wiser and more level headed when it comes to all things BYU - Utah football. He’s a yewt. I’m a coug.
We were discussing the upcoming game and how we both are going to sacrifice time to watch all of the games we can. We live in Kentucky and as some of you know, games tend to finish out here around 2-3 am. I eventually told him that I’m not an extremist when it comes to the yewts. I hope they have success against other pac 12 teams but of course, I hope BYU smashes them.
He then says this, “yeah I just hated BYU so much before Kalani got there. ESPN totally did this thing were they showed how BYU was the dirtiest team in college football. They always take cheap shots and I hate that so much.” (Pretty sure ESPN didn’t do that but please correct me if I’m wrong).
I just nodded my head but I was thinking “oookay dude...” I understand that we had the brawl with Memphis. Then we had an O-line dude punch that Boise state player in the tenders. But what else? What is he referring to?
He seems like too much of a homer with such a statement. Or am I too much of homer by not knowing that BYU is the dirtiest team in college football a few years back?......
Go cougs.
