You can't compare against the baseline when BYU was the top program in a good but not great conference, you need to project where BYU would have been under Bronco given the independence situation. BYU still wins plenty of head to head match ups against Utah, believe it or not recruiting could be much worse.

I was told he would bring the Poly Community with him, but the top ranked Polys all sign elsewhere.

The number of polys has increased, did you really think he was going to steal the top ranked Polys from USC and Bama? Utah hasn't signed a top ranked Poly either. This is an unrealistic expectation, particularly with non LDS kids.

I was told he would prepare us for big games like Kyle does, but he is something like 1-10 against Utah, Utah St (I never thought I would see us lose consistently to Utah St) and Boise St.

Those aren't the only big games, in fact it's sad that USU is considered a big game now. He won on the road at Wisconsin, Michigan St., Mississippi State, beat Arizona twice in season openers. Bowl games are also by definition big games.

Meh. Who cares what he says, what matters are wins and losses. Would you really feel better if his record was the same but he REALLY hated Utah and trashed them every chance he got? Plus, hatred for Utah isn't the same as being a BYU guy through and through. Bronco hated Utah, but he wasn't exactly a "BYU Guy through and through." He didn't play for BYU like KS did, he often criticized admin and caused trouble, and his hatred of Utah didn't help him do that great against them ether. Meh.

I was told he was going to bring BYU back to dominance and yet he has the worst record of any BYU head football coach since 1972 (nearly 50 years ago).

I hope no one sold this to you but expecting BYU dominance with independence is impossible. If BYU goes back to the MWC or AAC it is possible they could win approximately half the conference Championships
