2. Recruiting rankings are by far the most accurate way to determine the strength of the program. Our depth against Utah looked about as poor as I can remember it. On special teams we were forced to use Dayan Lake and once he was out of the play because of a hold/illegal block in the back we had no one else win their one on one battle. Our best playmaker is a TE named Matt Bushman, recruited by Bronco.

Or the empty backfield system we ran against Utah where we refused to hand the ball off even though we enjoyed a huge amount of success doing it? This team has one of the best offensive lines we have had in quite some time and a mediocre receiving corps. Yet we have 3 or 4 wide receivers on the field and don't let our offensive line do what was working. Excuse me if I see that much differently than you do.

Do I think that this offensive coaching staff is better? Yes I do. Yet here we are 7-7 in our 14 games with them running the show. 7-7 at BYU used to be our horrifically bad season. Kalani lowered that bar by leaps and bounds.
