I'm not trying to be cheap, but holy cow washer/dryer pedestals are expensive!

My wife wants them so she doesn't have to bend over as far, which i totally understand, but the ones she wants are $330 each. There's no way in hades I'm dropping seven hundo on two plastic pedestals. Anyone have luck DIYing something instead?
