Police retirement in Utah is after 20 years
of service. You get 50% of your wages as a pension. Pretty standard benefit in all states.
In Utah you can’t work for another public agency for at least one year if you want to keep collecting your pension.
Many go to work at BYU since they’re not part of the public retirement system.
