Simply for sport, no. I eat everything I hunt.
Each state fish and wildlife agency manages each area differently. For the area we went to they manage for opportunity, meaning it is not overpopulated perse, but is a healthy population. If numbers dipped too low they would close hunting in that area. Is it sport? Yes. In the sense that the animal lived healthy and free and I was lucky enough to stumble upon him and reduce him into my possession.
