It appears that our depth at every position and Pope’s ability to go 10 deep in games is allowing the team to wear opponents down and close out games in strong fashion. It’s also allowed him the ability to move slumping or unproductive players down in the rotation and give hungrier players a shot without the team missing a beat.
I think back to some of Rose’s best teams, we always had a great starting 5 but sometimes the bench was really thin and really limited skill-wise or athletically. Over the course of a long season the grind seemed to wear down our starters. This year we’ve weathered through some tough injuries and kept motoring on.
