Playmaker
Ruth’s career avg was .342; Bonds .298. Slugging % - Ruth .690; Bonds .607.
WAR - Ruth 162.1; Bonds 162.8. When you throw in all the years Bonds juiced, not sure you are correct.

Bonds was a juiced up roid monster that has no business being

Bonds was, without question, the greatest hitter to ever play the game.

I agree that he's in the conversation, but without roids how many would he have?

I didn't realize Ruth had such a high BA. Impressive

Not to mention his 94 wins as a pitcher. Never, ever another Babe.

He did seem legendary. I always liked his unimpressive build/portly...

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not discounting Ruth's talent
CaliWG
1/22/21 2:05pm
On the other hand, Ruth's peers weren't hitting home runs

Lost everyone at “without question”. 😂

Absolutely correct. Bonds was insanely good.

Yeah let’s just forget about 500/500, 8 GGs, 3 MVPs
CaliWG
1/22/21 12:15pm
What yrs was he a GG winner? I don't follow baseball at all, but know of Bonds
wickedgame71
1/22/21 12:36pm
Basically the entire decade of the 90s: '90-'94 & '96-'98

Greatest fielding play of Bonds' career:

I knew someone would post this. Jim Rome talked about this constantly

Seriously, though...how does he not throw out Sid Bream? Terrible throw.

I'm not a baseball guy. I was confused when I watched your clip lol

Was he still a talented fielder during his impressive roid yrs('01-'05)?
wickedgame71
1/22/21 12:58pm
He was good until about 2003 or 2004. After his knee surgery he was subpar.

Coming from an "unbiased" Giants fan right?
RockyBalboa
1/22/21 12:58pm
Im def not a fan of any baseball, nor do I understand details, strategy etc

Does my fandom change whether he is 500/500 when nobody else is even 400/400?
CaliWG

Bonds was an amazing player. No question about it

I hate Barry Bonds but he was an all time great prior to roiding up.

Get Trump on the phone now to find those additional votes, errr, long bombs
RenoCoug

Don't call Trump. He completely failed at finding more votes.

Redemption story for Trump if he can find more HRs for Hank

I'm not a big fan of counting Negro League stats for MLB record keeping
Indy Coug
1/22/21 12:05pm
Agreed. For basketball, ABA stats aren't included in player's NBA totals, right?
RealSimsShadY
1/22/21 12:07pm
Correct, because Julius Erving's 30,000 ABA+NBA points didn't get him on this list
Indy Coug
1/22/21 12:09pm
but MLB has incorporated other previous league's stats already. Hard to distinguish between allowing one league and not
shimmy
1/22/21 12:10pm
Agreed there too. Leave everyone out

Should we now count Ichiro's hits in Japan as well? That would put him second

I didn’t agree with it either but since the decision has been made I’m hoping
BYUfan92
1/22/21 12:12pm
Which means a lot of great MLB players faced a lot of sub-MLB talent because
BGRTHNUMEGO

That is a valid rebuttal.
Marc Spector

But also there were so few teams that the talent that did exist was concentrated

I'm on board re: the level of competition, but record keeping is valid concern.

Barry Bond is a tool, would be nice to have Hank Aaron have it again...

Bernie Mac should make a movie about that.

1/22/21 12:18pm
If they do this, where does Josh Gibson stand?

It is limited to only official Negro League games with strict requirements on the statistics so it will only be a

I heard Bonds hired Rudi Guliani to disqualify those late counts.

Absolutely! I was on my mission in England when Aaron broke Ruth's record...
