would almost certainly be focused on maximizing revenue and competitiveness even if it means leaving the Iowa States, Kansas States, Oregon States, Wake Forests, etc behind. And if it’s done the way it’s been done with UT and OU it will be a systematic cherry-picking of the best/most profitable teams.
If such a league ever had any designs on the Mountain time zone I don’t see how BYU would be left out. It would probably end up being Colorado, BYU, Utah, Arizona and ASU.
Right now we are left out of the Big 12 because of the geography of the existing members and out of the PAC 12 because of the politics of the existing members. If this was truly a “starting over” type deal I think our chances of ending up in it go up over the status quo.
