Internships are often a semester long
That doesn’t mean a school like BYU can’t make it work, but it certainly makes things harder.
That’s also a massive downside whereas some of the upsides of the quarter system are smaller and easier to deal with.

I liked the the setup. Spring/summer classes were my favorite, but also enjoyed

Most universities use the semester system. Most teaching materials are likewise designed around the semester.

In the PAC 12 it might make more sense because more schools are on that system.
