Nearly every dribble in today's NBA starts with the hand underneath the ball...
and that's not every 1st dribble, but every dribble, period. Frankly, it's amazing that anyone can play decent defense the way the carry rule is never called. A player can basically sit with his hand underneath the ball (mid-dribble, of course) watch what the defender's doing, and then head in any direction that's beneficial. It's ridiculous!
