Tried holding onto it for a while which is a terrible idea, it looked horrible. Finally got the nerve to shave it all (and it takes a lot of nerve). Took a little while to get used to, but it looks so much better. I shave it every couple of days because of course my hair on the sides grows extremely fast. Also grew a beard which helps and I would recommend.
