Disgraced Rules President
Doesn’t CBS have the SEC rights until 2024? So what would ESPN get out of this?
An early departure for OU/UT away from ESPN and the Big 12 so that CBS can have their rights for a year?

I’m talking more about conferences. I’m cool with targeted destruction 🙂

I agree. Bad for the Western US to not have a power conference. At the same time

Have you not watched the PAC 12 on the field the last few years?

A small part of me is worried Bowlsby’s accusations about ESPN will hurt the B12

Apparently the new Big12 commissioner is cozy with a high up fox exec.

No, SEC and ESPN start fall 2024

OU and UT would get to leave the Big 12 one year earlier without having to pay a lot of money to do so.

7/5/22 10:56pm
Ok? What would ESPN get out of that. That’s the point of the thread

No duh. Again, what would ESPN get out of OU and UT leaving early?

ESPN controls the SEC rights. They get a significantly more valuable product

The OU and UT TV rights in 2024 when their SEC deal starts
runningryan
7/5/22 11:05pm
Holy cow, they are already getting those rights in 2024 when they move to the SEC.
TCuz
7/5/22 11:08pm
They can't leave in 2024 unless they buy their way out of their GOR with the Big 12. That doesn't expire until 2025

It is hard to grasp when ESPN ALREADY has the TV rights to UT & OU thru 2025.
bluebrotha

This is why ESPN destroys the BIG 12. No conference no exit fees. Entice 4 more
