There are many more likely possibilities
that could result in a vacated spot, including:
1. a player entering the NBA draft early;
2. transfer out of the program;
3. Rose asking someone to walk on;
4. injury;
5. suspension;
6. other unmentionalbles.
It would be poor planning to not overbook that far into the future, especially at BYU where missions and other peculiarities increase uncertainty.
