1) the defense lost 3 of the best defensive players BYU has ever seen in Van Noy, Ethen M and Sorenson. The defense has not been coached by mendenhall this preseason and we have a " rookie" making defensive calls during the game. The starting nose tackle and both corners are suspended. The linebacker are nicked up. We won't know what kind of defense they are until late into the game.

2) I don't know anything about Uconn players but this kind of argument was used last year against virginia

3) I can agree he has hopefully improved greatly but he had a really bad open scrimmage during this fall camp and may have difficulty under the lights on the first game of the year

4) 2-3 of the 5 olineman are freshman. This is their first time in a real college game. The center position is a freshman who is undersized and is responsible for all the calls.
There will be miscues and growing pains.
