We know our BYU team lacks discipline due to the high number of penalties we've received, however, I think your post was still unfair calling our team dirty. Keeping our lack of discipline in mind, BYU plays tough, and that has caused opponents to get chippy. I think our defense plays with a NASTY streak, but does that mean dirty? Are we cheating? Are we being unethical? No. We are big and physical and, yeah, we talk smack.

As for the penalties, you mentioned the inconsistency in the ACC refs, and I think that the frustration of our heavily penalized team plus the obviousness that the refs were just not on their A game caused the booing. For what it's worth, lots of fans boo bad refs, not just BYU fans. Not sure why you're singling us out.

Lastly, last Thursday there were several posts from Houston fans about how well they were treated at the game and how happy they were with their Provo experience. I'm sorry you couldn't make it to the game, but I can assure you you would have been treated with respect and kindness at our stadium. I hope your family is well.
