Stan Watts won 59% of his games. Dave Rose has won 75% of his games thus far. Stan's teams mixed brilliant seasons with mediocre to very poor seasons. He had four losing seasons along with a couple of 500 seasons. Dave has never won less than 20 games in a year.
Please don't get me wrong. I am not attempting to minimize what Stan Watts did for BYU basketball. He had some very notable accomplishments including two NIT championships when they meant something. He really put BYU basketball on the college map. I suspect however in todays environment fans would lose patience with Dave if he went 11 consecutive seasons without winning 20 games (like Stan did 1953-1964) or even five seasons without winning at least 20 games (like Stan did 1966-1971).
