Utah was/is absolutely desperate for linebackers. Losing Langi was a big blow without even considering the rivalry angle. They need all the help they can get at that position.

Utah finally has bodies at quarterback but still not the ones they want. That's why they went and got Kendal Thompson and immediately put him at second string ahead of the other guys on the roster. Hansen fits what Dave Christensen wants to do, and trust me, they would love to give Chase a shot at quarterback.
