But your concise reply nails Hill's situation, IMO. If Taysom has people in his ear telling him his best shot is in the league, he's getting some very bad advice.
BYU is currently a dumpster fire, sure. But Taysom himself has proven to be at least a semi-effective antidote for many of the Cougs' ailments, and a successful performance next year could literally earn him millions. He'll have his offensive supporting cast around him, and he may not have Nick Howell running things on the other side of the ball, which would be a good thing....
Taysom's age may be a compelling factor that would push him toward leaving early. I can grasp that. However, he's shown little to no proficiency in the passing skills that will land him a lucrative NFL contract. If he bails now, he gets a free agent deal, or at the very best, a very late round selection.
Like it or not, coming back to Provo is Hill's best play. I can't help but believe he sees this.
