Agreed. The cost of shooting a 3 just because you can vs getting to the rim
cannot be overstated. That's what dooms 3 pt shooting teams, not the percentages. That's a nerd's analysis. If you can't get high percentage buckets due to lack of talent or otherwise then you tend to shoot more 3's as a result. That's why teams die by the 3 eventually.
