decision again. They simply haven't even considered the issue since last year. When they were reached for comment today in light of the ACC announcement, they had nothing new to say. They are just repeating status quo.
However, since their announcement last year, we have scheduled several games with SEC opponents. There is a good chance that the SEC will reconsider their stance at some point so that those games we have against the SEC will count more towards their strength of schedule. We'll see. Maybe they stick with their initial decision. Maybe not. Right now, the SEC is all alone in calling BYU a non-P5 program. Everybody else is either silent (but still scheduling us), or has announced P5 status for BYU.
It is a big deal.
