Even Utah helped the Pac in that regard because they were stuck at 11 and needed to get to 12 for a championship game. A great majority of the realignment decisions have been made based on money. If we were starting from scratch, BYU would bring more money to the table than schools like Washington State and Kansas State. But they got in the club when geography was the chief consideration. Now, a scenario has to arise where the existing schools in a P5 conference will get more money, on a per capita basis, than before by inviting BYU. And if another school will give them more money, the other school will get in over BYU. Regardless of which one has the better football team or athletic department.
