Recently a friend of mine had to take on a bunch of kids because their mother passed away from drug OD. Since my friend and his wife are still in college, and there are no other family members to help out they desperately needed $ to pay for very basic funeral expenses. Taking on 3 kids when you are 24 is a huge burden, and it seems that it would make $ donated worth it so those poor kids could have a proper burial for their mother.

But, I agree with a lot of the stuff you mention.
