KU would likely be left out in the cold
Good bball but bad fball and too far from everywhere to justify. They also might have trouble breaking away from K-state. Who would want two schools in a small, distant state with no good tv markets? Even if they can go it alone, they bring very little to the table.

Anyone would want UT or OU, though they might also have separation/packaging issues. They also have the least reason to leave. The conference is a punchline these days, but I think it's actually pretty stable. The schools who could leave lack incentive and the ones who would want to leave can't get invitations.
