While I admit for me it is extremely close (and I definitely admit that most
would choose Chamberlain) here is why I chose Olajuwon:

PPG in Playoffs-4 ppg more for Olajuwon... so when it mattered most the better scorer was Olajuwon
You say he was dominant, which he was. But when he was scoring those high volumes of points his team wasn't always winning. In 1962-63 he scored an amazing 44 ppg... but his team went 31-49. Westbrook could have probably scored 44 ppg last year and his team would have won 31 games. He still wouldn't have been as good of a player as guys like James, Curry and Harden that sacrificed individual stats for team wins.

Wilt played in NBA leagues considerably smaller than Olajuwon's Western Conferences. He should have had more titles. He played with a bunch of HOFers. Guys that are the who's who of early basketball (West, Baylor, Arizin, Rodgers, Thurmond, Greer, Walker, Cunningham and Goodrich). Yet he walked away from the game with 2 titles-one that he averaged 24.1 ppg and one that he averaged 14.8 ppg.

Lastly it comes down to competition. Wilt played against solid players, but really only Russell and Alcindor could match his athleticism. He struggled to score against those guys. Hakeem played in the golden age of centers going against guys like Robinson, Ewing, Abdul Jabbar, O'neal, Moses Malone etc. His game because of his superior footwork was still strong.

IMO if they were playing one on one Olajuwon would win. He has much better post moves and is a better defender.
Again, it is extremely close but that is why I chose Olajuwon.
