Is it really plausible to think the Big XII would do that? I've been reading everything I can find about possible expansion, as I'm sure you all have to. The more I read, the more it seems like the P5 conferences all really invite school's entire athletic programs. As far as I know, no P5 conferences have football only members. The MWC and AAC do, but wouldn't it be unprecedented for a P5 to go that route? If the university Presidents really make the final decisions, it seems like they look at academics, and the best interests of all their athletic programs. I think that in the interest of all sports, schools like Cincinnati or a Memphis have got to have an edge over BYU right? I've looked at the Big XII's championships schedule and several of them take place on Sundays. That has to be an issue if all sports are involved for BYU. I'm on mobile, sorry if this is formatted poorly.
Long story short: would the Big XII actually invite BYU or any school for just one sport?
