Holy moses. You honestly feel like the students at BYU devolve into 2 camps?

1. "You don't go to BYU unless you are a nut-job Mormon with no real purpose"
2. "You are very driven and want the very best educational experience for your future"

Sounds more like you need to open your eyes and try to see the world from the eyes of other people. The world looks a lot nicer after you get off the high horse.

BYU has it's flavor of interesting people with some weird hobbies/interests but to boil it down like you did shows that you just have an axe to grind.
