They say he is very good at x's and o's and technique. It was just a couple of years ago that BYU had the 3rd ranked defense in the country. Howell coached DB's. I'm guessing you don't end up with a 3rd ranked defense if your DB coach can't coach. He failed as a play calling DC. It didn't work. But we have had some very, very good secondaries by BYU standards with him coaching. Statistics suggest your assertion is opinion not based in fact.
