Don't base your decision on picture quality seen in the store
Companies like Samsung have several settings, but their default setting is typically optimized for viewing in a large, well lit warehouse (like Costco). Those settings are almost always not great for in-home viewing, but they are great TVs that can be adjusted for a great picture at home.

Other stores like Best Buy have been known to optimize picture settings on TVs that provide the highest margin/incentive, while not optimizing settings on TVs with a low margin/incentive.

Your best bet is to (1) get the remotes for the TVs and input your own settings and then compare; or (2) use a buyers guide like CNET:
