Not sure what I think about the Trailblazers
On the one hand they made it to the second round and kept the games close with the 73 win Warriors. On the other hand they beat a Clippers team who lost it's two best players (The Jazz would have won that series without Paul and Griffin on the court) and then went 1-4 against the Warriors despite the raining MVP Curry only playing in 2 games. They also only won 44 games (wouldn't have made the playoffs in the West just a couple of years ago). Back on the other hand they were predicted to win like 29 games and winning 44 is extremely impressive in that light.

They are extremely young as out of the 10 players that get 10 mins per game from them Gerald Henderson is the oldest at 28, Ed Davis is 26 and then you have 25, 25, 25, 24, 23, 23, 22 and 20.

You have a Superstar (or at least a potential Superstar and one that is close) in Damian Lillard. You have a 2nd scorer in CJ McCollum. You have long athletic players in Al Farouq-Aminu, Moe Harkless, Ed Davis, Meyers Leonard and Noah Vonleh. All of those players besides Vonleh (and even he shoots them on occasion) can stretch the floor and shoot 3s. You have a center that can defend and rebound against other big guys in Mason Plumlee.

In essence you have the Warriors from 2 years ago. Now the Warriors made two major moves to make that next step. First was getting a great defender and all-around player in Andre Iguodala. The second was getting an incredible coach in Steve Kerr (The Trailblazers coach has done well so they might already have that guy). Could the Trail Blazers be competing for titles in the next to years?

My biggest doubt comes from anyone "becoming" Steph Curry. I think Lillard has as good of chance as anyone in the current NBA to do it, but I think it will be awhile before we see anyone as good as Curry again. The next problem is finding a leader like Draymond Green. They have guys with similar talent sets, but he is also a one of a kind type of player.

Still, I see the Trailblazers continuing to trend upward and be a factor moving forward. We will see if their players can continue to get better and their front office can continue to find the "right" pieces.
