Go to the range and hit a punch four iron.... Find out how the good contact
Feels with the club. Keep making your swing a little long everytime, there will come a point where your weight is back and not getting through the ball and you will hit it fat.

Either work out the kinks at that point or shorten your swing at the point you still make contact and can get your weight and hands through.

Just my opinion, playing at the appropriate tees for your handicap should really eliminate the need to use your four iron a ton. I might pull mine out once...... Possible twice a round usually after a swipe with my driver and that is usually only on a long hole.
