I haven't actually been playing the last 2-3 years -- travel every week for work. But I am going to restart this summer and that would be a great drill to focus on. Before, I was actually pretty good at picking the ball clean (I always felt a divot on a long iron should be pretty shallow) and could draw the ball (even pretty consistent with big, low, sweeping, running hooks if needed). Trying to hit a fade with a long iron was where I got in trouble. If you have a drill for that, let me know. To me, the beauty of the game of golf is self mastery. I don't play enough anymore to score well, but a few nicely executed shots makes a round worth it.
